I´ve worked through the manual, done everything obvious. The START button is flashing constantly. All possible problems investigated and drawn a blank. What is wrong with the machine? PLEASE HELP.

Put your finger on the start button and keep it there. It is a battle of wills, but you will win. Have you just finished a wash ? Sometimes mine goes on strike if I try to do back to back washes.

Mine is seriously ill, on its way to terminal when it goes I will be getting a Miéle and bugger the cost.

Ours did this a bit ago. Hubby bought a new control panel and fitted it, cost about £40. He knew it wasn't the pump that was broken as he's a man and knows these things
I think ours also made a little clicking ,whirr sound as if it was trying to start - and then did nothing.

We bought a house last year which had a built-in kitchen with a 60cm Whirlpool and I had to sell my 45 cm Miele The Whirlpool has no salt indicator and I've got so used to it being temperamental and having a long sulk before starting. Felt v stupid lately when it didn't start for 24 hrs and I realised I hadn't put salt in for ages. Salt in, started right away.

If you find the problem and need spares we've recently got spares for our dishwasher and oven from www.interspares.co.uk.

They also have a Technical Support section for diagnosing problems -definitely worth a look.

Thanks for that! Gosh it is awful to have to do the washing up all the time!
