Hi. I am 26 and have severe depression. I'm new here so not sure if I've posted in the right place. I am looking for people to chat to as I am on my own most of the time.....hubby works!!!! I am a SAHM and I have been starting up my own home-business of cake decoration.

I am feeling rather lonely right now, but can never find a friend to chat to. I don't seem to fit in with anyone. I just need adult conversation...........HELP!!!!!

Hi 2wildbabies, I'm afraid I don't live in Liverpool and haven't actually suffered with PND. But I do know what it's like to be a SAHM. I now work part time which does give me a taste of the outside world again.

BTW the cake decoration home business sounds great.
I think when you feel lonely you do feel like you don't fit in. But I'm sure that's not really the case. Maybe you just haven't found friends with the same interests as you at the moment. larsxx

Hiya 2Wb. I suffer with pnd too, have a teenager and a toddler and a crawler. Completely run off my feet as workfull time from home. Dont live in Liverpool but always available for a chat.

Hi 2wildbabies, sorry, I'm not from Liverpool but I do support Liverpool FC if that helps
I too am suffering with PND and I only have the one DS who is 5.5mths.
Mumsnet has been great for me and there are lots of people on here that will offer support and kind words.
I'm always about to share worries and concerns.
Take care
Wellsie

Hi 2wildbabies. I'm 27 with a 3 month old son, Steven. I live in Central Liverpool with my husband and son. I had antenatal depression and anxiety. If you want to chat or meet for coffee, let me know!

Good luck with the cake business

Are you still around 2WB??

2wildbabies · 13/06/2004 19:20

Hi Saintshar!!

I am always in St Helens....go to Morrisons a lot!!! I'm not feeling great right now. My mood changes are amazing and I can't control them. I feel so sorry for my husband!! I have two lovely children who are really good, but I am still cheesed off with everything. PND is horrible. I am on anti-depressants but they are not doing a lot. I have been changed onto Dothiepin to help me sleep, but as yet they are doing nothing only giving me dizzy spells and making me feel drunk all the time.

How did you get yourself better??? I have tried toddler groups but I am too nervous really.

Anyway, I could waffle on for ages. Talk to you soon, ttfn xx

Hi 2 Wild babies - how long have you been on the new pills for - just can take 4 - 6 weeks for pills to start working, and they can have quite a gradual effect - so that in a few months time it'll suddenly creep up on you that you're feeling loads better. Also side effects can sometimes just be for first weeks and two, and then go away completely. It is difficult socialising sometimes - you think everybody else is "normal" and "happy" and "copying" whilst you are nuts, but you really never know what is going on underneath the surface, and it is likely that at least one of the mums you meet has/has had PND too, but doesn't want to talk about it. Also as well it is so random whether out of a group of strangers, there will be anyone you click with.

bye for now and have a good rest of weekend

mummytosteven · 13/06/2004 19:29

Oops - sorry about all the typos - meant first week or two, not first weeks and to, and coping, rather than copying .
