Not sure what to do for my birthday this year

We normally go for dinner with friends in the town center. i have tried going to larger towns for good clubs but it usually ends up being a wash out.

Other problem is this year my b'day falls on Mothers Day.

I'd really like to do something nice but I just can't think what. I'll be 26!

i'll be 25 on sunday and dd is 4 on monday so i'm having a lovely day having an birthday party for her with 20 kids, why did i talked into this, now she'll get 2 birthdays and i'll get none .

think i will try and go out on saturday night for something to eat.

why not wangle some time for yourself and do some things you really like?

I did this once, I went on a guided walk and then had a few glasses of wine in a bar with a book.

I don't want to spend my birthday alone. I like to get together with friends or perhaps for me and dh to have some quality time together doing somthing nice.

clayre - sorry about your birthday. Like you say, go out for dinner on the saturday night - having a hangover will make the kids party so much more fun!

oh god did I sound really sad?

just at the time my life was all about other people and I needed some space.

Each to their own. Hope you find out what you want to do.

No not really sad DT - I love afternoons when I have an hour or so along to read a magazine with a cup of tea and some biccies - or a day at the spa to chill out but for my b'day I like to see friends or go for dinner.

I thought about dinner at The Ivy in London and then the comedy store. Phoned The Ivy but they only have late tables and will not book a table for more than 6 which is a bit of a bummer.

have you tried the oxo tower?

really lovely views over london at night and then you could walk over waterloo bridge and up to the comedy store.

sweetheart · 06/02/2007 18:56

no I haven't done Oxo tower so it's worth a look - thanks!

Not sure wether to stay local and have a big night out or go further afield with just me and dh - maybe a couple of close friends.

I wanted to do the Ivy and comedy store last year - I don't know why I didn't book it months ago!
