I have a love bite (you may snigger) didn't know where to post this... style/health/sheer stupidity?

actually, before I post.. why isn't there a 'sheer stupidity' topic??

So today I am wearing a new (high neck) top that I made dp buy as punishment. I didn't own one already. I am at work and said high necked top is now tit-taped to my bloody neck. how embarrassing - I could have killed him.

Please, need your great ideas for making it go quicker. don't say make up, doesn't last long enough. Tried on Sunday and was blatantly a love bite again by about 11am!

So what do I do for work tomorrow and and lol at the same time.

PandaG · 05/02/2007 14:32

silk scarf draped round neck and tit taped into place? or is that completely not your style?

FatFikAndFugly · 05/02/2007 14:33

completely not my style.

I took a look at myself in the morning and he heard me shouting obsenities at him from the bathroom. (no dd Saturday night, double lol)

rofl

I bruise/mark very, very easily so I am always batting DH off (ooo-errr) when he gets a bit over-enthusiatic.

Wash the top and wear it again.

Tie a floaty scarf tightly around neck several times, twiddle ends stylishly and say you are experimenting with french chic.

norty!

BettySpaghetti · 05/02/2007 14:33

Not sure if I've imagined this but I'm sure that I've read somewhere that if you rub toothpaste on when it dries out it covers it quite well.

Alternatively you could get a whole new wardrobe of high neck tops out of this

ComeOVeneer · 05/02/2007 14:33

Rub in arnica cream, it will make it go more quickly, but you will still need to cover it for a while.

FatFikAndFugly · 05/02/2007 14:34

he refused to buy me more than 2. lol

When I was a youngster we always swore by putting toothpaste on the love-bite - can't remember if it actually worked.

FatFikAndFugly · 05/02/2007 14:34

arnica, right. where do I get that from? Boots?

BettySpaghetti · 05/02/2007 14:34

Last year I actually burnt my neck with my hair straightners, everyone said 'Is taht a love bite' I just laughted and said of course not, it's a burn from my hair straightners.

Could this work?

piglit · 05/02/2007 14:38

Hope you don't mind me asking but how old are you? The reason I ask is that if someone I worked with had a love bite looking thing on their neck I wouldn't think it was a love bite IYKWIM. I always think of love bites as the mark of the teenage years. But perhaps that's just me.

I used to use toothpaste. Don't think it actually worked. My brother had a great excuse for one of his - he said he fell out of bed awkwardly and caught his neck on his bedside table.

ScoobyDooooo · 05/02/2007 14:39

Yuuuk hate the bloody things have not had one for many many years, if dp did do it i would kill him.

When i was younger we used to put toothpaste on them because it is suppost to make them go quicker, so try doing this before bed then wash off in the morning, in the mean time i would be shopping for high neck tops

I'm 28 and it looks very much like a love bite.. in a very love bite position... oh the shame.. wouldn't mind so much but I have people working for me.. it's hardly the done thing for your manager to roll in on Monday morning with a hickey.

and I don't care if a hicky from kinnicky is a hallmark. It's so embarrassing.

piglit · 05/02/2007 14:43

Hmmm, could you go to a joke shop and buy some joke warts and glue them on over the love bite?

FatFikAndFugly · 05/02/2007 14:44

I just snorted into my tea piglit! oh, it's Mascaraohara here bte. Really must change back!

wurlywurly · 05/02/2007 14:45

piglit · 05/02/2007 14:47

Oh mascara - lovely to hear from you. I was wondering if you were still around.

Was it a good shag btw?

FatFikAndFugly · 05/02/2007 14:49

I haven't had one of those since I was 18!

Didn't realise I had it, as was drunk.

Until I walked into lecture - a really small English Lit one - and the lecturer quipped, 'Good morning, EIS, did you have a good time this weekend?'

winterpimms · 05/02/2007 15:22

PMSL at blue plaster

It could be worse, at least you can get away with wearing high neck jumpers. Now, if it was July.........
