Hair has gone a bit fluffy since being pregnant and am seriously thinking of gettin git all lopped off about 2 - 3 inches all over - DP says go for it but also said - but if you get really fat you may look a bit odd!! (The SHIT!!)

What do you think - I have short hair anyway so it will not be sooo much of a departure from the norm??

Wish i had the nerve to do it, i would love short spikey hair but am afraid i would start crying in the hairdressers and never stop if i had it done.

Janstar · 11/06/2004 11:07

If it had been up to me you would never have had it cut and it would be down to your knees by now!

deegward · 11/06/2004 11:08

Short hair person here. Have a finky, spikey look, which every now and then gets red washed through it. Its sounds real trendy, just wish I was as trendy as my hair. Go for it, its really lberating and easy in the morning

Do y6ou realise mum that my obsession with my hair is down to stepmonster and horrid father not letting me have my hair cut till I was 18!!!

May go for it this weekend - anyone have any websites with hairstyles on for an idea??

Twinkie, don't know of any websites but I'd say go for it. I had hair down to the middle of my back until a few weeks ago then I decided to go to the hairdressers and have it all chopped off (well not all but it's very short with some nice summer highlights in it!) I felt absolutely fantastic afterwards, felt it had given me a new lease of life and it's so easy to look after.
US MUMS MUST DO MORE FOR OURSELVES.

I have very short hair and its lovely to just wash it, ruffle it and go ...........BUT I do regularly get called "sir"!

Double depressing - 1) that I'm not gorgeous enough to be recognised as female even with short hair (like Sinead O'Connor ) and 2) that I'm old enough to be "sir" rather than "sonny"!

I usually make some kind of comment about " really must start wearing make up", but also have quite low voice, so maybe they think I'm transgender. No, I do have ovaries and PMT, and children, grown in a womb and everything!

Blu · 11/06/2004 13:28

I love short hair. Make sure you go for a style with lots of 'texture' (and ask about the right 'product' - you have to use lots of 'product' to make the best of short hair! It will be so much better for summer pregnancy and your holidat travels!

Frenchgirl · 11/06/2004 13:31

Lol Gumdrop! I have had short hair for a couple of years and the novelty's worn off now so growing my hair again, but Twinkie if you fancy it go for it!! It's a nice feeling to look all new and different.
When I was about 13 I got very short hair and looking back it looked gorgeous, but I did get called a boy occasionnally (tall and no boobs to speak of at that age....now 36C!)

misdee · 11/06/2004 13:52

go for it. mine is short-ish, and last time i didnt get cut as short as i usually have, and it is driving me mad already 4 weeks on. usually i just run a little bit of spiking gel thro and make it look a bit ruffled and spikey. takes all of 2minutes to do my hair each morning. i even put it into a fin on nights out to shock my mates.

emmatmg · 11/06/2004 14:21

When PG with Ds2 I had REALLY short hair. Probably no more that 2" on top and it was great. Really trendy and sooooo easy to style.

I have long hair now(and obviously whil Pg with Ds3), although had 5-6" cut off recently and it's a bloody nightmare! It takes me anout 30 minutes to dry and straighten it as it's like candy floss otherwise. And now that it's all falling out with the PG hormones disappearing it's everywhere and drives me mad

Annoyingly I'm not brave enough to get it cut short again as it's taken nearly 3 years to get here so I wash it, dry it, straighten it and then after about an hour I tie it up coz it gets in the way!!

Do it, Do it, Do it, Do it!

codswallop · 11/06/2004 14:23

Bunglie · 11/06/2004 14:24

Twinkie · 11/06/2004 14:35

cd - I am pregnant so no I am not super thin!!

I don;t mind the rest of me not being thin but I am a bit wary of getting to the end and my face ballooning and me looking mad!!

I shaved my hair off and got on the bus, the driver called me sonny, i also had a lot of lesbian attention, huge mistake that took months to change, good luck though, i think you need delicate features, some people look stunning, i was not one of them
