Families & How To Survive Them book - recommended or not?

I meant to read this when it first came out (long before I had a child!). Just got a copy from the charity shop so I'd like to ask: has anyone here read it and is it any good/helpful or did you think it was a load of mumbo-jumbo?!

My DH read it and raved about it - when he was doing his psychiatry block intraining to be a GP. He reckoned it was brilliant, and well worth a read, but with 2 young kids I've never lifted it off the shelf yet!
