I don't know this couple really well as they are DPs friends more than me, and certainly don't know what their new house is like. just wondered if anyone had a good idea for a small thing to give, possible homemade? (though i worry about that having read the LW thread...)Thanks,

A chili plant in a pot (cheapest at carbootsales, buy one for you too!)

TenaLady · 30/01/2007 12:59

ooh, do people still do this kind of thing? I would just take a bottle of something.

purpleturtle · 30/01/2007 13:00

pot plant

nappyaddict · 30/01/2007 13:01

photo frames, vase.

is it their first house? if so stuff they need to set up home like a nice set of glasses or something.

are you artistic? could you paint a picture or make some cushion covers?

Imafairy · 30/01/2007 13:08

I would go to Tesco, buy two bunches of their lovely longiform lilies (@4.99 each) and then make them into one big bouquet.
And a nice bottle of wine.

Danger with photo frames is that unless they are really plain and nice looking (and expensive) they might just end up in the bin!

If they have a garden what about a tree that they could plant.

either just a bottle of something nice or cheaper wine plus some spring bulbs in a pot
