suitable for a small business i.e. someone who doesn't charge an arm and a leg? I have two immediate needs - help with potential litigation against me and help in getting T&Cs written up for my website. If so, please let me have your details so I can email you.

Theres tonnes of lawyers on here - maybe they charge an arm and a leg

are the two requests related..
for the T&Cs I'd look at other peoples and devise my own if it's a retail website..alongside looking at the distance selling regs and the standard contact details, company reg and VAT ids

The two requests aren't related. But thanks ofr the ideas about looking at others.

the main things you should/must have for T&Cs are covered on the DTI website

ie your geographical contact details, the reg office if it is a ltd co and the reg no and the VAT reg no

you must also have customers rights to cancel which should also be sent in hard ie not website format to customer either in email or with parcel

obviously if it's not retail then slightly different!

you can also get help from business link and leaflets from trading standards

what is the other problem? do you have insurance which might cover legal help? is it personal or business?

It's a business problem and don't really want to put the details on a public website just in case it has some impact on the situation.

I have managed to find a free lawyer service offered to small businesses where you get a half hour free consultation - which I had. Am hoping that I now have the solution but who knows.

My business does sell some products online but it is a service business so needs more specific T&Cs. Will keep looking around to see what's out there though and will get in touch with biz link again as they were the ones who told me about the free lawyer service.
