To mend the toilet or not to mend?

We're selling our house and the toilet cistern has started dripping a bit. If I was to risk getting bad karma by ignoring my moral obligation to mend it, do I have a legal one?

You wouldn't like it if someone did it to you?

I know but dh is moaning about getting plumber in.
