Primary school-aged kids in Cheshire?

Small bit of information needed please - did your children ever bring home Primary Times magazine (it's out of production atm but should be back in October) and are there any similar free mags distributed by schools in Cheshire - eg Family Life magazine? I think there used to be but not sure if it's still going.

TIA!

is this an advert jan?

mummysurfer · 07/06/2004 13:13

we're inBolton and we get a version of Family Life.
Probably not what you needed to know, sorry if thta's no help.

Janh · 07/06/2004 13:43

Thanks, mummysurfer, that is helpful actually! I meant to say Manchester as well as Cheshire - does your edition cover Cheshire too or is it just Mancs? (Assume it's not a Lancashire edition?)

(fio, you monkey! I was thinking as I typed it that it sounded as if it should go in media...no benefit to me though so I hope this is OK!)

hmmm, now you have me thinking.
i'm almost sure it's a M/C one but could be wrong. i haven't got one at the moment but could perhaps find out for you. we're not in lancs LEA, or anything else but people still use Lancs as the address, out of habit?? the more i think the more i lean to the M/C one.

Tinker · 07/06/2004 15:50

Well, we've not had one for a while but it does cover Cheshire rather than Lancashire

Little Tigers is a great free mag for parents of pre-school and primary children distributed around the East Cheshire area, Macc, Wilmslow, Stockport etc. We advertise in it and get loads of enquiries from it.

I have the contact details if you like or I could send you a copy. It gets sent to all the primary schools and I think the library as well. I have to say from a parents point of view it is really good, lots of info on things to do etc and some nice little articles and all the advertising is relevant.

Thanks, Julie! (Nice to see you btw!) If you could send me a copy that would be great, have you still got my email address? (I managed to delete your message without saving yours, durr.) If not I'll send you a CAT.

mummysurfer, I typed a reply to you yesterday but I see it's not here so I obviously forgot to post it - I'm doing that a lot lately ! Anyway yours probably will have been a Mancs one because of the LEA, but I would like to know if it's just Mancs, or Mancs/Cheshire combined, if you can find out easily I'd appreciate it, thanks.

Tinker, yours would definitely not be Lancs but again I'm not sure if it would Mancs or Cheshire or a combined one. Boundaries and distribution of these mags can get a bit tricky. (How are you feeling btw? )

i'll try and find out for you, but i'm not in school until friday.

intrigued now, what do you do?

Janh · 08/06/2004 12:46

I am "Listings Editor" (Sunday title!) for a couple of Primary Timeses - used to do Chesh/Mancs and Lancs under previous management which has folded, now doing Herts and Beds, but Cheshire is being revived and the person taking it on (from Berks) was wondering what other similar mags there are up here.

As I said I thought Family Mag was around down your way, DS2 used to get the Lancs version (haven't seen one for ages now) but hadn't heard of Little Tigers - it sounds very similar to Primary Times, except PT doesn't really cover pre-school, so I'd be interested to see it!

I sent my email via contact another talker. Have you had it yet?

Janh · 11/06/2004 17:52

Hi, Julie! No, I haven't, but they sometimes take ages to get through (esp on Friday afternoons, funnily enough....)

My email is holden_jan at hotmail dot com, it's on about 4 other threads now so it might as well go on here!
