The thought just crossed my mind. I am two days late and i have all the normal pre period/pregnancy signs. Tired, grumpy, soreish boobs

But the one thing thats niggling me(sorry about this)TMI, but,im normally as dry as a bone in the old nether regions at this time in my cycle. Just went too loo as thought period had come and it hasnt, its just cm??? Plus two days ago i had some bllod in clear jelly cm?

What do you reckon? Over reactive imagination?

I was done 5 months ago whilst having the c section but apparently thier is a 1 in 200 chance of getting pg again. But its meant to be the most effective way????

being sterilised at the same time as a c.s is not the most effective way.....AFAIK...not sure why but i know it is better done at a different time.....

if you are concerned and worried, it will play on your mind more and possibly delay your AF..do a test..

mrsmaddyd · 27/01/2007 16:52

Think i will wait at least a week before i test. Spent enough on the flippen things whilst TTCing without doing it again when im not.

I am old now so its prob just all my hormones and everything meesing me about. More likely to be starting meno pause than being pregnant

Lulu thats not helping my fragile state of mind Tell me what you know??

OP posts:
lulumama · 27/01/2007 16:57

sorry..i just know i have heard that having it done then is a slightly riskier time...so sorry !! i might , of course, be completely wrong !

Miaou · 27/01/2007 17:22

AFAIK (and I've only read it on Mumsnet ) being sterilised during a c-section is not necessarily as effective as your tubes etc are swollen from the recent pregnancy. However if that is the case I would be amazed if this was not discussed with you prior to the operation, tbh.

buktus · 27/01/2007 17:27

i was warned prior to my c section but they had to take my tubes away in the end so if i did get pg they said that they would have to terminate it, its along the same lines as you just put miaou

lulumama · 27/01/2007 17:28

that is pretty much what i had heard too miaou. x

mrsmaddyd · 27/01/2007 17:30

They did talk me through it but nothing was said about swollen tubes. Just the one in 200 chance and there more chance of eptopic

mrsmaddyd · 27/01/2007 17:36

well i guess its just wait and see. Sure its nothing, but you know when you have a niggle?????

I became pregnant after sterlisation, so did a friend. I was only 30 but she was 41 and it freaked her out as she had teenagers.

I have now been sterilised twice

mrsmaddyd · 28/01/2007 15:56

Oh god. Im 3 days late now. When did you realise. When were you steralized, was it after a c section?

OP posts:
nutcracker · 28/01/2007 15:58

mrsmaddyd

I was told the same thing about being sterilized during section by the way.

mrsmaddyd · 28/01/2007 16:29

I know i Know i Know. All that ttcing i did and now its the last thing i want. I couldnt cope with another pregnancy especially after the miscarriages and nearly loosing last baby after my placenta broke down.

nutcracker · 28/01/2007 16:38

Will keep my fingers crossed for you. The only way you'll know is to test.

Hopefully it is just thr worry of thinking you might be that is keeping your af away.

mrsmaddyd · 28/01/2007 17:37

i wasnt worried till i realised i was late and then i started annalysing everything. What wil be will be i supose.

Its more un-likely than likely

I was sterilised 3 months after DS was born, I went off gin and tonic, I just knew. DD and DS were only a year apart, so this would have been a disaster. Apparently it is quite common to fail in the first year after having a baby. They didn't tell me that, but seeing as my friend and I had the same surgeon, we think she was just a crap surgeon! She retired early after this.

mrsmaddyd · 28/01/2007 19:03

Ali i have 3 under 4 so wouldnt be easy for me. Deep deep down i know i would want it though thats the thing and i dont want to be in that posotion. Bugger im just gonna have to test. Ill try and hold out till a week late or mind you i could buy a cheap e bay one. Oh what to do what to do???

OP posts:
mrsmaddyd · 28/01/2007 19:04

Its amazing it happened to you and your friend. You must have been a great support to each other

It happened to my mom, she had my sister 9 months after she was sterilised! Sorry probably not what you want to hear! My sister was lovely by the way and my mom just said well she was determined....This was 21 years ago though, im sure they have improved the techniques since then?!

Good luck
