I know nothing about skiing and am trying to buy stuff for ds's school trip on the web.

Should I buy jacket, trousers etc larger than him? Because of all the fleeces and thermals underneath?

Also are the fancy ski socks with padding etc vital?

I could phone the school and ask but they already think I'm a halfwit.

Hellooo !!! Charlotte was Fab thank you ! DD has improved hugely and Charlotte even took her up to do a green run - which I thought was pretty cool at just 6 !

Charlotte was incredibly patient with me - I was a squealing quivering wreck and by the end of the week she had me doing drag lifts and traversing down the virtually flat nursery slope on my own - unfortunately I don't think it's me - so I think I will probably retire now !

Charlotte was great - was it you who recommended her - I can't find the thread now - Thank you if it was !!!

Helooooo foxtrot !!! Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up !!! Did you have a good time ?

DH wants to go to Whistler next year - says there will be more for me to do !!! Apart from looking after dd and carrying her ski-stuff around for her !!!

aDad · 26/01/2007 13:56

all this ski talk got me all again

foxtrot · 26/01/2007 13:59

sorry aDad, not sneaked in a sneaky couple of days yet?
I had a great time, by Friday lunchtime i could hardly move for being knackered! I'm sure whistler will be lovely, plenty of spas and the like. Did you brave the open air pool in Les2Alpes? Surreal!

aDad · 26/01/2007 14:03

no foxtrot. I stand by my decision to not go this year.

Anyway I'm glad you all had fun!

foxtrot · 26/01/2007 14:04

well, there's not much snow anyway

aDad · 26/01/2007 14:07

thanks!

North america has been the place this year hasn't it. I think whistler and the like have had about 3 metres of snow, and temperatures around zero.

Although it's snowed in a lot of europe in the last 2 or 3 days now.

This was the cheapest thermals I could find british thermals . £10 a set for my boys but your ds might need adult - still only £14 I think.

Where are you - the outlet place at Braintree has some good sales on ski stuff at the moment.

He may get the balaclava under the helmet - but might be a bit hot, but if it works as a neck thing you have best of both really.

LIZS · 26/01/2007 15:11

Not sure whereabouts you are but Decathlon does good quality budget stuff too, if there is a local one.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 26/01/2007 15:13

MrsBadger · 26/01/2007 15:17

if you need adult size Tchibo thermals are excellent value - £7!

turquoise · 26/01/2007 17:51
