sorry to hear that. poor thing

Caligula · 24/01/2007 14:34

Oh poor littlemissbossy. But at least you haven't eaten him. D'you remember that thread where someone thought she'd eaten the hamster, because it had escaped from the cage?

It's awful when pets die, but all part of their learning experience, I suppose.

Sad

I know but the guinea pig was a replacement for the dog that died. Oh god they'll be devastated especially youngest DS

Hi LMB.

I have a similar tale of woe. Last Thursday I left here to meet my sisters at a play centre. Dh was at home doing some DIY. Later that evening my nieces came back here with me & I asked K to clean out my gerbils for me as I hadn't got round to it the night before (I always do it on a Wednesday but my older neice stayed over & me & Dh went to the cinema) Anyway... K came in & said "They are all huddled up together in their playhouse, they look sick & shivery" Then I remembered that the night before they had fell asleep in their food bowl on top of eachother which is most unlike them, as they never really liked being out on view to everyone. I also could swear I heard them sneeze...
Anyway, K continued getting the stuff ready, new fluff, water bottle filled, sawdust ready..then she reached in for the gerbils..& they were dead. They had just died. I think they caught a cold as our utility room window had been open for hours as Dh had an extension lead out it. K has lots of them & says that once one dies it's really a matter of time 'til the other did..but my 2 must have died together.

I didn't really have any bother telling DD who is 5 as she wasn't that interested in them, they were really mine.

unfortunately youngest DS was really taken with the guinea
he was always first out to see him in the morning
I might get another but wait until winter is over
