OP posts:
quadrophenia · 23/01/2007 19:01

my kids are lucky if I remember

Oati · 23/01/2007 19:01

my mad dog dh gave ds1 £3

I soon cut it back to £1 for the subsequent teeth

3andnomore · 23/01/2007 19:09

Why give money at all anywya, stupid english tradition this is, lol! And my es is lucky if I remember, too, and then it's £1.

roisin · 23/01/2007 19:10

We give 50p first one, 20p thereafter. (May consider 50p for the back ones if they are very traumatic.)

My children have soon learned that peer pressure doesn't cut the mustard with me.

I give 'em a quid per peg. S'not as if they have that many teeth to fall out. And we only give pocket money randomly in small amounts.

Little kids get excited about money under their pillow. Gee, I'd get excited too.

dmo · 23/01/2007 21:09

my poor boys
get 50p and thats if i remember

my friend has a little girl and the tooth fairy leaves books, magic wands or jewels

nikkie · 23/01/2007 21:19

£1 for the first 50p any others,We were talking about it at a party once and the majority were the same as I do ,when one Mam piped up wth "well we do £5 for the first and £3 after"

PrincessPeaHead · 23/01/2007 21:21

oooooooh no
50p

£1 if it has roots!

PrincessPeaHead · 23/01/2007 21:22

my dd has a classmate whose tooth fairy WRITES HER NOTES IN TEENY TINY MICROSCOPIC WRITING!

Now THAT is idiotic. And downright antisocial IMO

lucykate · 23/01/2007 21:22

rumour has it at dd's school that its £2 for the first tooth, £1 there after

pointydog · 23/01/2007 21:23

errrrr... I've done that . Under some subtle pressure from dd2.

The shame

pointydog · 23/01/2007 21:23

i reply to peahead

Twiglett · 23/01/2007 21:25

1 Pound! Only 1. Only ever has been.

They have quite a few teeth, you know. And it goes on for some years (7 and counting in my son's case).

PrincessPeaHead · 23/01/2007 21:27

BASKET, Pointydog, BASKET!

2shoes · 23/01/2007 21:38

£1 in our house and ds is 14

bandstand · 23/01/2007 21:46

hmm my dd friend also had a bloody letter from the tooth fairy, hence we had to follow suit, luckily it was a one off.
my dd3 first tooth was soooo excitng, shame i forgot.. remembered in the morning, as i usually do.

NappiesGalore · 23/01/2007 21:53

i know a child who gets paper money, no less than a tenner.
ive seen and heard a lot, but even i was at that...

paulaplumpbottom · 23/01/2007 21:57

What does a 5 year old do with ten pounds?

nikkie · 23/01/2007 22:09

dd1 lost 3 in 2 days once I'd be skint!!!!

hatwoman · 23/01/2007 22:13

in the hat house too. dd told me that "everyone" gets £2. when I asked her the next day what the toth fairy had left she looked at me like an idiot "Two pounds. I told you. that's what everyone gets" right then. not even a glimmer of an idea that maybe, just maybe, she should consider herself lucky. what have I created...

hatwoman · 23/01/2007 22:15

in a strange fit of soppiness about make believe dh did a letter too. strange man.

NappiesGalore · 24/01/2007 15:32

oh god knows what he does with the money. sticks it in his bank account prob, or spends it on yu-go-oh cards or some crap. the womans insane. fact.

anyway, this thread has made me resolve
A - never to write a note (had never even occured to me, you bunch of nutters!!)
B - never to forget to take the tooth freom under the pillow (my 'rents did occasionally and it was horrible disapointment in the AM - 'dont the fairys like my tooth?' lol)
C - never to give more than 1 coin. am inclined to make it a penny too...
