nope - no overdraft facility - and I still have a few pence left in the bank DH is in Birmingham - with his cards.

you used coupons for shopping?

satine · 19/01/2007 14:30

If you paid for the shopping with a debit card, sometimes the transaction takes time to register with your bank. So it may be that you're now overdrawn. Phone your bank and grovel, unless you've got an overdraft!

MascaraOHara · 19/01/2007 14:30

the grocery bill might not have hit your account yet - you'll get charged if you don't have an agreed overdraft

lol - misdee got it - I had £7 in Saverstamps and a £5 Morrisons Miles voucher - got some funny looks walking round putting stuff in my basket and them punching buttons furiously on my phone (I used the calculator to make sure I didn't go over).

mind you I swear one day I will have more than £10-15 saved up on those blinking saver stamps......I always seem to get 'caught' just as I think I'm doing well.

whenever i get to the machien at tesco to get my stamps i realise i dont have any £1 coins. d'oh!

fannyannie · 19/01/2007 16:48

that's what I like about Morrisons - you buy them at the till - so even if you're paying by card you can still get some.

FYI if you do get a charge, phone up your bank, it is at their discretion to remove that charge. The computer automatically puts the charge on, even if you are a penny over your limit.

It is a wise idea to say you know someone who works at a bank so you realise the charge is automatic and they can remove the charge.
