I have to get this off my chest.

Reading the thread about people who smoke near the school gates reminded me of two things.

Has anyone seen the adverts where they talk to scientists about various chemicals and it turns out if they leaked they would need serious protection and they are all in cigarettes. Cigarette smoke is poison, is their message.

When I was 12, in 1984, I saw a photo of a baby with 2 cigarettes coming out of its head to demonstrate the damage smoking while pregnant can do to your baby. Various things remind me of this photo, I have never forgotten it and it really was awful. It would never be allowed these days. Does anyone else recall seeing it?

I think those ads are good. (Dont know the baby one you refer to though).

I also think the NHS Quit smoking ones with the fish hook are good too.

They get the message across, thats for sure.

I can't remember that but I do remember the one from years ago when my brother was born and I was 4. It was up on the clinic wall and I would look at it while he was being weighed. It showed a pregnant women side on, and you could see inside her womb and the baby had a cigarette in its mouth.

Was equally horrified and fascinated.

But didn't stop me from starting smoking though

I quit in July because of a pregnancy. I also didn't smoke when I was pregnant with DD. Don't understand women who smoke while pregnant. It should be illegal.
