I need the help of all you MNetters in Sussex who have got married on a budget recently :)

A good friend of mine is getting married in October and needs to find a venue in Sussex. However she has a budget of 2k for everything! I suggested a drinks reception which she like the idea of so where could she get married for this price?

BTW there are two seriously disabled people in the wedding party so good access is a must.

The golf club around the corner from us (think it's Reigate), hires out its facilities and there is a church near by (St. John's Church). Would have thought something along those lines would be reasonably cheap. Otherwise, registry office followed by pub?

Don't know whereabouts in Sussex your friend is but Lewes registry office is in a lovely location although the room only holds 30.

I think you can hire function rooms in the grange btu don't know how much they are - Lewes however supposedly has a pub for every day of the year (and if you don't know it, itsnot a big town !) so they'd be able to get a room in a pub quite easily. I have frequented many of them (although in my youth).

Lewis Registry office is a lovely setting and there are some nice hotels in the town where you could hire a room for drinks. We went to one at Michelham Priory although possibly too pricey. you cna marry in the barn and there is a separate bar area.

Is it Reigate Hill Golf Club or Redhill and Reigate Golf Club?

or Brighton Register Office and a drink somewhere in the Lanes ?

They wanted somewhere half way between Burgess Hill and Croydon!
