popped into town with both mindees and dd this afternoon, we had photot sent to photo shop from snapfish and decided to collect them so we can update oour friendship wall this afty...both mindees fell asleep on way there..got to photo shop, door was about a foot wide, no way was double buggy gunna fit through...guy who works there walking around 'chatting and laughing on his phone..looked at me struggling to get through and turned his back on me!...so stood in door way waiting for him to finish on phone..another member of staff walked up to me.."excuse me" he said..thinking he was going to help i smiled and he said, "im trying to get past to go on my lunch"!!!!...woman who worked there kept looking over to me but never once bother to ask if all ok or if i need any help...so i shout EXCUSE ME through the shop and loudly said, "i cant get through your door with a double buggy, nor am i going to leave three toddlers outside, dya think someone could come and help me"!!!..she begrudginly walks over!..asks what i am wanting, tell her, SHE GIVES ME PICTURES and leave(guy still chatting one phone)..so waLk away having woken mindee one up try to squeeze buggy through door..about to walk home..dd needs toilet!
walk to nearest public toilets(now pouring with rain), pop head round ladies (cant get down the corridor with buggy!)and ask if they can open disabled to get buggy in..."dont you have a radar key"??..no im not disabled, i have a double buggy and a toddler peeing herself.."WELL I CANT LET YOU IN THEN"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..a tad p*ssed off by now, walk to our doctor surgery, big sign, toilet for patients only(i am patient there, just wasnt going today)...disabled toilet locked...ask at one of receptions to open for us, "go to next reception"..i explain that, that one is closed, shutters down.."well you'll have to wait till they re-open"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BSTARDS AND BTCHES!!!
needles to say i wont be making any nice trips into town with three kids anymore, but why should any parent/childminder have to be put through that!

sounds like a nightmare! I've given up on most toilets with the kids in tow. And shopping for that matter. Twin buggys never fit in. Poor ds1 usually has to pee behind the car when we get out of it in a car park, because I won't let him go in the loo on his own.

tinkerbellie · 11/01/2007 14:08

don't me started it'sw like where i live if you want to go into town clothes shopping you will find that all the ladieswear is up a massive flight of steps that no one will help you up and there is never a lift

also find bus drivers awful, like when you have got baby in one hand and are struggling to get pushchair into storage space (which is too high for normal people to be able to reach) the bus driver won't wait until you have finished just slams on accelerator so you go flying when he stops slams on the brakes so 5 year old ds nearly goes through windscreen, i will do anything to avoid getting the bus there are never any kneeling ones near us and if you don't what time they run at how can you prepare yourself at the bus stop anyway??

sorry

also think people are less helpful than they used to be i went into pc world the other day and wanted some help choosing a wireless router, wandered around looking for someone for ages and finally found a woman and actually purposefully averted her eyes so i coildn't attract her attention

how rude!!

It's thinks like this that make me mad, and result in DH telling me i should start a "grumpy young women" tv show.
tinker, i must admit from my experience of Fife bus drivers, they are a pretty good lot, will keep the bus still till you sit down/arrange your shopping etc.
I think people in general are getting a more "couldn't care about others" attitude, especially, IME younger people, not neccesarily teenagers, people in their early to mid twenties - and before i get jumped on, i'm not saying everyone in that age group.
And then of course there's Fife council, who are a law unto thereselves

Skribble · 11/01/2007 14:20

Hate the term jobsworth lets just call them arseholes in this case.

Bananaknickers · 11/01/2007 14:24

I would have pulled my dd knickers down and held her and let her piss all over the floor by womens feet. she is only 4 though

StrawberrySnowflakes · 11/01/2007 14:31

i did think about doing that after remembering a thread a while back from a pg lady on here peeing on M&S floor..but dd although 3 would be mortified..bless...yes, change heading to BLOODY F*CKING ARSEHOLES!!!!

Just wanted to offer moral support - poor you. What a nightmare. People can be so stupid and unempathetic sometimes.

I have come across this little portable potty thing that I take everywhere in case of such a situation, wondered if this helps.

Tommee Tippee portapotty

Not in any way suggesting that you should have to do this! But dd has used it in emergencies.

thanks..have seen them somewhere before..good idea..may have to get one in just incase!
