i read somewhere that diet can influence things... men's diet... but dont know how scientific that is! we had a dd, but she was a 'pleasant surprise' so no tips on making a girl from me i'm afraid!!

have no idea how scientific this is but here it goes:
whilst pregnant the food you eat can influence the sex of the baby. For little girls try a diet rich in Ca and Mg , eat things like yoghurt, butter, cheese, dried fruit, food that contains none or very little Na, K and salt

For little boys avoid milk based products but consume more salt, meat, fish, bread, fruit.

Apparently, babies concieved in the autumn are more likely to be boys (apparently boys are weaker than girls when little so it helps them to develop if they're born in the warm summer months)

How about that?!
I think in reality, when pregnant, the body dictated what you should eat naturally and it might be difficult to follow a particular diet.

Apparently... if you want to have a girl you need to have sex 3 days before your most fertile period.

This is because there are more male than female sperm in a single ejaculation - approx 10 - 1 - but the female sperm live twice as long. Hence after 3 days there should only be female sperm left alive in the uterus.

So if you want a boy hump everyday as male sperm will always be present , and will out number female sperm.

Thats what they say anyway. Only problem is you never know EXACTLY which particular DAY youre most fertile.

Hope this makes sense.

Happy Humping.

...someone once told me that to conceive girls you had to have loads of sex. Simple! I can actually support that as we conceived both my boys in months where we had very little sex (with ds2 we only had sex once that entire month and it wasn't a whole lot more with ds1!)

I think the best method is that described by Cuppy. It seems to make sense to me, scientifically. I have three boys and a girl, but I'm afraid I can't remember the details of how they were conceived (except for ds2, but that's another story!)

There is a book called Choose the Sex of Your Baby - the Natural Way, by Hazel Chesterman-Phillips which has lots of tips. I think you have to have sex a couple of days before ovulation to get a girl as the male sperm are weaker and don't live long enough. You also eat different food.

Oh yes, sorry Cuppy didn't read the thread before posting! (sorry to repeat you!)

Tight pants and a hot water bottle on the crotch - for the man that is! Warmth apparently kills off male sperm.

Someone suggested the following method for picking the fertile day although it may take several months (and, of course, still might not get you a girl!). Month 1 you have sex on day 1 , month 2 on day 2, month 3 on day 3 etc... and not later than that day. The theory is that eventually you'll hit upon that magic "3 days before".
