Someone recently told me that bossy women are more likely to have sons. (Something to told with extra testosterone killing girl sperms ???) I am v.v bossy and have lovely son. What do you reckon? Any bossyboots out there with daughters?

No I am bossy (allegedly) and I have a girl

Pablothelittleredfox · 09/01/2007 10:00

I'm sure it's all rubbish.

But anyway, I've been called bossy plenty of times and have 3 boys.

MrsJohnCusack · 09/01/2007 10:03

there was some story a few months ago to this effect - except it was 'assertiveness' or somesuch they referred to rather than bossiness!

I think it's bollocks too. I'm really bossy and I have a daughter and a son on the way.

Lizzylou · 09/01/2007 10:04

I have been called bossy many times during my life and have two boys.....

Sure there's nothing to it tho!

NDPWillSpendLessTimeHereIn2007 · 09/01/2007 10:06

Gawd no, I am as bossy as Hell and I have a DD

fortyplus · 09/01/2007 10:08

Gingeme · 09/01/2007 10:15

I wasnt bossy till I had 4 boys

MarsLady · 09/01/2007 10:15

Nope! I have 2 sons and 3 daughters.

Now... get on with your work! lol

hunkermunker · 09/01/2007 10:16

I'd like to say it was rubbish, but...I'm the mother of two boys, so it looks like denial.

hunkermunker · 09/01/2007 10:17

Ha ha - I'd forgotten your ratio, Marsy!

Yes, it's all bollocks. Marsy proves it

MrsSpoon · 09/01/2007 10:19

I am assertive (don't like the word bossy in this context) and have 3 sons and a daughter, so perhaps it is true for me.

Saturn74 · 09/01/2007 10:21

Ah, MrsSpoon, the same thing happened to me!

Cloudhopper · 09/01/2007 10:21

I'm bossy and I have two daughters. My SIL is as well and she has 3 daughters.

eidsvold · 09/01/2007 10:23

very bossy - and have 2 dds - who are learning the art of bossiness I remember that study - dh came home and told me whilst laughing his head off.

scampadoodle · 09/01/2007 10:24

Am much amused by this thread as when I was expecting DS1 (my 1st child & I didn't know the gender) I really wanted a girl as from what I could see mothers of boys were all shouty & 'assertive' (ahem!) & wore puffa jackets & ugg boots over their jeans. I am a right arty, unsporty wimp so just thought I'd be a cr*p mother to a boy. DS1 was born & I loved having a little boy so much I was really pleased when DC2 was also a boy. I've no plans to have any more, despite people saying 'Ooh, d'you not want to try for a girl?' No!
However, whether or not I am a good mother to my boys is a moot point!

MegaLegs · 09/01/2007 10:28

I am bossy as hell and have 4 boys!

feetheart · 09/01/2007 10:30

Complete twaddle!
I'm as bossy as you like and have one of each.
Will wait for next generation as DD (3.10) is learning a lot from her mother

meowmix · 09/01/2007 10:30

I was told that men who are stressed at time of conception (not literally at THAT time but you know, generally around then) are more likely to have girls than boys. And actually every stressman I know has girls.

MrsWednesday · 09/01/2007 10:31

Nothing in it at all.

(I'm bossy and have two boys...)
