My DD has a bath every night and tonight I noted that she was in there for 40mins under DHs care. And she objected to coming out!

my 2.3 yrs old spend about 20 mins 3 times a week

DD (4y9m) isn't a big fan of baths, so spends maximum of 10 minutes in there. She's in, wash and conditioner hair, wash herself, and out pretty much. She prefers a shower and will spend ages in our cubicle.

me
magazine
brew
sat on toilet

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

why disturn utopia?

fannyannie · 08/01/2007 19:58

they have a bath together every other day and spend anything from 5-45 minutes in there - depending on who is bathing them, how rushed for time we are, how well they're behaving etc etc

Beabea · 08/01/2007 19:59

Custardo - the amount of water that comes out of the bath I would have a soggy magazine and would have to sit on the floor. We have a very tiny bathroom and seperate loo.

Hulababy it has never occured to me to condition my dd's (4y6mo) hair...

My 2 spend a good 20 mins in the bath. If they start playing a raucous game (quite often) you could easily double that!

clairemow · 08/01/2007 19:59

wow, 40 mins, how lovely! My DS1 spends about 15-20 mins in there, but would go in the shower and stay there for hours if we let him, like Hula's DD. Sometimes he has a shower at 4 in the afternoon, or 11 in the morning if it's a rainy day and we're bored. Takes a good hour!

my dd aged nearly three spend up to 40 minutes in the bath, it's one place where she's occupied and I can sit down. I've bought some special bath tub paint, that she can paint on herself and on the bath and it just washes off afterwards, it's been one of my best buys.

Kbear · 08/01/2007 20:04

My two are 7 and 5 and still bath together mostly. I sit on DD's bean bag in the doorway and we chat while the bubble machine works it's magic and the whales and dolphins from ELC swim the depths or Barbie gets her hair washed or whatever.

Can take 45 minutes. Sometimes it's a quick sloosh and they're out though, if it's getting late.

Beabea · 08/01/2007 20:05

Belgo - that sounds fun. Where do you get it?

I thought I would add that her brother who is 4 months rarely gets a bath as he usually manages to sleep through bath time! But he had a good 20mins tonight.

roseylea - DD's hair is very fine and flyaway. Have found conditioning helps. We use a tea tree shampoo and conditioner, which are apparantly good at repelling headlice. So each time I wash her hair and condition I also use a fine toothed comb and comb the conditioner through it carefully, and rinsse. Just in case, etc.

beabea - got the paint from Hema, a shop in Belgium. I've no idea if it's sold anywhere else. Hema is a great shop for slightly unusual stuff for kids.

scorpio1 · 08/01/2007 20:10

i have seen similar stuff here-and pens too.

forgotten what brand, you know, that one that begins with c or something does them . . . brain gone!
