i know, its always when you really could do with the help! bless her really, i shouldn't bitch, but she is full of "helpful" advice and suggestions when i really don't need them and polishing the skirtinmg boards when i could do with a babysitter for half an hour!!

Why don't estate agents show people around houses any more? Why are their fees so high when they expect you to do all the showing around? You should invoice them when you do sell your house (which I hope is soon..and for the extra £36k!)

Next time MIL asks you to help her out, tell her you're busy, sorry. (Training to be an estate agent, perhaps)
