Help Pleeease!..Why wont my pictures print off my computer...?

dp bought me special colour photo cartridge and loads of glossy paper for xmas, but when we print of(despite preview being perfect)..the best you get is much paler colour with mostly nagative colours on everything ie: our unit in living room is brown, on picture it was blue, dd's teeth are white..theyve gone green???????

Sounds like the cartridge might be a bit dodgy with perhaps one of the colours not coming through properly. Did it have a bit of sellotape stuff to peel off where the ink comes off? Has that all gone?

Can you try printing a test page and then try the maintenance bits like nozzle cleaning from Control Panel/Printing?

Do the heads need cleaning on the printer?. I have a mac so not sure if it's the same but I go to printer utility, maintenance then clean heads and align (oops, can't remember what I align) but that tends to bring the colours back to normal.

wont actually let us run a test sheet??? an according to hp instruction it has to be put in black cartridge holder???????..wont fit in colour one??arrrgh so annoying

that doesn't sound right, surely you'll mess the black ink???
What exactly have you bought and which printer?

Did it let you align the printer head and print out a test sheet when you inserted the cartridge. If it didn't I would take it out and start again. Did a little google and got this

thanks for that ..but dp jsut took over and did everything i had and more and its still colouring things 'negative' anywhere thats shaded..so looks like he spent £30 on a colour cartridge for me and all im gunna be able to print out is black and white pics...does anyone think the shop 'cuurys' will exchange it???dp doesnt think so, but bery at it!

nah, when you go into printer preferences, i unclicked grayscale and it then brought up 3 lots of brightness, colour and saturation whcih were adjustable...still not good quality pictures but better than they were..gonna try and print a couple off and have ordered rest from snapfish!..bloody thing!
