Is the holiday with the same company as you have already booked with ? They may allow you to change and charge administration costs.

If they won't let you do that then you'll lose the deposit and depending on the small print they may charge you some of the cost of the holiday.

They might let you, best bet is to give them a ring or go in and see them.

They might be able to help - IME holiday companies are keen to keep rather than lose your booking (and your money) so it's worth asking them.

Last year my sister got married and as a present we booked them a weekend in Rome through Thomas Cook. After booking it I read some reviews on the hotel and didn't think it sounded that great, so I went back to Thomas Cook a few days later and explained that I had changed my mind about the hotel and could I change it to a different one, they were really helpful and swapped it for us. The were going to charge us a small fee for changing it, but as the hotel we swapped it for was slightly more expensive they didn't bother charging the fee.

thanks for all the replys
rang thomas cook, girl was fab(same one who helped us decide), she rang to find out about friends hotel and.its full 8-(

so after we spoke about ym concerns, she has emailed our hotl people as well as putting a highlighed note on our booking papers that we require a room away from scooter park, on a middle/high floor(only ground and first floor anyway i think?) and facing the sea

so hopefully all will be well

have been speaking to someone via review of hols web site reg hotel and area and they work just outside all of ours in diving shop and is being really helpful..so just have to keep fingers crossed now!
