There are people who actually like MIchael Moore?

Pablothelittleredfox · 03/01/2007 23:37

God, I cannot abide Billy Bragg. What a tosser.

I think Little Britain is hilarious - so non-PC which is a blessed relief in this day and age imo.

paulaplumpbottom · 03/01/2007 23:49

I think Little Britian is awful. I don't see what is funny about a young unmarried girl with loads of kids. That program just justifys that sort of behavior.

Bucketsofdynomite · 03/01/2007 23:59

Paula do you like The Royle Family and Phoenix Nights? Just wondered because people who don't don't seem to like Little Britain much either.
I don't think it's particularly about politics, you don't have to agree with someone's politics to find them funny or admire their cleverness.

Carmenere · 04/01/2007 00:01

I like Michael Moore.

Monkeytrousers · 04/01/2007 00:02

I like athiests

NorksBride · 04/01/2007 00:09

Spitting Image took the piss out of everyone - David Owen, David Steele, Neil Kinnock, etc so I don't think it's just leftie territory.

If somebody's funny, then I don't mind hearing them knock my political ideals. I'm not definable by party btw, nobody covers all the things I want!

hunkermunker · 04/01/2007 00:10

I like Little Britain and not Phoenix Nights or Royle Family. I think Peter Kay is spectacularly unfunny and Caroline Aherne is dull.

Pruni, do you like Mark Thomas?

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 00:14

Jethro. HIL-arious.

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 00:15

hunkermunker · 04/01/2007 00:16

I was going to say Roy Chubby Brown! but wasn't sure if people would think I was joking

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 00:19

Jim Davidson. I pissed my pants.

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 00:20

Bernard Manning. Rest In Peace, Funny Man.

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 00:22

Stan Boardman. Total Fokker.

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 00:23

Lennie Bennett. Bring Back Celebrity Squares.

hunkermunker · 04/01/2007 00:35

Aitch, you're making me larf and larf.

I just don't get what's funny about Peter Kay. He's very, very predictable, IMO. I like a comedian who I can't guess the punchline with, or who educates me. Not one who goes "gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarlic bread" [wtf]

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 00:43

i find Peter Kay really warm and cheering, iykwim? his childhood sounds not dissimilar to mine in many ways (although my father was a staunch advocate of alium-heavy bread products) so he proper warms the cockles of my heart when i see him. for some reason the stuff about the Alpine lorry makes me cry. tears.

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 00:44

Bernie Winters. Although i preferred Schnorbitz.

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 00:45

Bernie Clifton. Although i preferred the man-sized bird thing.

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 00:47

Kenny Lynch. Although I can't remember his jokes.

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 00:48

Jimmy Tarbuck. Although i prefer Liza.

AitchTwoOhOhSeven · 04/01/2007 00:50

Kenny Everett. Big Hands

Tortington · 04/01/2007 00:56

i think paula is american hence not getting of little britain.

i am not american - understand its proported humour - but think its the biggest load of shite...apart from.....the office wwith whom it shares first place.

similarly although not exclusively, i think it helps to be northern to get certain peter kay jokes.

just as i am sure that you have to be southern to get a lot of catherine tates stuff.

other comedians who deserve digging up and shooting are
kenny everet
benny hill
frazier, that wasn't even funny once.
