Please help settle an arguement.
DS1 is at nursery now, and keeps loosing his gloves. I think it's perfectly reasonable to stick his gloves on string through his sleeves like my mum did with me, but DH thinks it is cruel and will just lead to bullying.

I haven't noticed any of the other kids with gloves on string, am I just behind the times?

I think gloves (and hats and scarves) are more trouble than they are worth unless it's REALLY cold - which it hasn't been in this country this year. And when it's really cold, my children miraculously put them on and keep them on.

A good warm coat with a hood and pockets to put their hands in if they have to hang about waiting to come in after playtime. Sorted.

Gloves? I had a hard enough time getting DS into a coat in the UK. His father is of the Northern persuasion "shape oop lass, tis nobbut a north westerly, tha'll molly coddle the boy with yon fancy southern ways" says he as he strides out of t'pit clad in nothing but a loin cloth.

Sigh. Heady days.
