Just walk tall and proud babe! After all.... he's your man! And what a man!

TrueToForm · 02/01/2007 12:35

This is so fantastic.

You are a proper couple already if he's telling people, it's all official and everything

brill.

Heavenis · 02/01/2007 12:37

Just send an e-mail to the whole office

I'm sure people will be happy for you and if they aren't well who cares.

paulaplumpbottom · 02/01/2007 12:44

Don't worry about what your boss thinks, it's none of her business and she sounds like a bitch. Your new man sounds fabulous and I hope you have a wonderful time together this year. This thread has been great reading for those of us with boring married lives

sammac · 02/01/2007 12:58

Think I said ages ago that this happened to my friend- they were living together and still going into the office separately. She was his secretary and previously had arranged weekends away for him and assorted women.

They even went away on holiday and she told everyone that she had fallen asleep in the garden and that's why she had a tan!

They've now been married for 15 years and she is definately the boss now

I'm glad everything is going so well. Like many others I've been thinking about you over the last few days and wish you oodles of happiness.

Judy1234 · 02/01/2007 13:00

I would say nothing at all about it. It's your private life and nothing to do with people at work. They arell at work to work and they should be getting on with that.

If he's married and in the middle of negotiating what he pays etc with his wife then there will be some interesting issues about that if you ever got to the pointn of moving in together I suppose. See if you can get him to give her a clean break so he's not paying her maintenance (if he earns enough to pay her off on a clean break.. or may be she earns more and will pay him off like me)

DonCorleonesDaughterInLaw · 02/01/2007 14:02

I came across this thread (well, Part 1 anyway ) whilst checking out Site Stuff and am so glad I did. I am soooooooo chuffed for you Amanda-get you, your very own Mr Darcy . Bless you, looking forward to all subsequent Parts and wishing you a brill 2007 (oh, and lots of shags too )

drosophila · 02/01/2007 14:06

What will happen at your work re the management chain? In my job (civil service so a little uptight) you would not be allowed to continue working together and someone (usually the woman) was moved on.

bandstand · 02/01/2007 14:08

could not read your last thread pastthe first few posts, once it go so big, my computer freezes

thethirdwisewoman · 02/01/2007 14:50

Blimey, I thought the thread had disappeared!! Fantastic amanda1 I thought about you on NYE while I was sat in my PJs supping champers. Wondered if you'd seen the fireworks in London or did you make your own ? good luck to you both, this is so fab.

naughtynoonoo · 02/01/2007 15:24

I wondered what happened to the original thread - glad to find the follow-on and glad that you and new man had a fab weekend. Glad you are spending time getting to know each other before getting the children involved - don't know how you could have turned down the ski-ing though - i think I would have JUMPed at the chance, but then again it wouldn't be just the two of you. I hope your weekends without the children are the same so you can spend loads of time getting to know each other - like you haven't done already! ANy pics going round of how gorgeous you looked in your frock?

Freckle · 02/01/2007 15:46

Waht a lovely continuation of the fairy tale! Sounds like you had a fantastic time and it's great that people at work know now so you don't have to keep wondering if your behaviour is giving you away or anything. I know it's none of their business, but it takes the edge off the romance if you have to keep changing how you treat each other depending on where you are.

Nice touch of down-to-earthedness in refusing the trip skiing - and probably makes him feel that you are serious about the relationship rather than just in it for what he can give you.

Long may it continue - and don't forget to keep us up-to-date.

FlamesparrowThePirate · 02/01/2007 17:08
