are you on a laptop? if so are you leaning on the bit next to the mousepad thing?

if so, stop it. common laptop problem.

brandy7 · 31/12/2006 22:32

on a laptop but not leaning. i just typed the first part of this message, took the cursor back to the beginning and it ran on its own to the end of the line, bloody annoying, arghhhhhhhhhh

unfortunately laptop mice do tend to do this. can you lean a little on the opposite side? just briefly, it might help the mouse resettle.

My laptop goes like that after DH gets his hands on it - he bashed the mouse pad too hard and messes it up. I find tapping it a few times helps... almost try and realign (sp??) it.

oh i give up, bloody thing, il just have to make sure i dont make any errors that i need to change. my hands are no where near it when its going off on its own happy daddy, its literally like theres a ghost moving it!

quootie, thanks i tried the tapping , no good, think il have to leave it for tonight and praps wash it with fairy or something?praps its got greasy

happy new year

Dh (builds computers for a living) says that a common reason for laptops to do this is that you may have some dirt round the edge of the pad. He says to get something sharp like a needle and very carefully run it round the edge. HTH.

Is it a Fujitsu laptop? We have one that hops around (the cursor, not the laptop) all over the place and I was told by someone who works there that it's a softwear fault, so nothing you can do. Mine makes text disappear, sends emails when I'm only halfway through... just what you need!

I've diabled my laptop mouse & I now use a conventional mouse, for this very reason.
