I don't know quite what I expect any of you to say.....I'm so shocked (to the core) We were going out yesterday, we opened the door to find the police had shut off our block and the place was crawling with Police in riot gear, there was a helicopter, dh asked what was going on and told to get back in the house.
I sneaked a peek out the upstairs curtains to see what was going on (not normally so nosey) and saw armed police crouched down the side of my neighbours car with guns pointed at the house, I only know 4 of our neighbours well and this was one of them, I dissolved into tears (she has a 6 year old). I calmed myself down and went to see to the kids, I went into our back room (where we live) and saw my 6 month old sat on the floor next to the french doors and suddenly realised she may not be safe, out the window, the helicopter had relocated to the back, it flew off and dh said they'd gone in. I went to see and a few mins later they came out with someone who I didn't recognise, I was even more worried that it was an intruder (I was expecting it to be domestic - not that there's any history or anything, but you never know what goes on behind closed doors)
Dh (being quite nosey) asked the police if everyone was OK and they were (thank God) but it wasn't even her house, it was next door. Still don't really know what's happened, I'm just so shocked, we live in a reasonable area and it's just scary to think these things can happen.
