Hello,
Here's my problem....
my DH is going to apply for his next contract as a doctor in just 2 deaneries,it's supposed to be like that, a new system.
Anyway we're choosing The Greater London Deanery and we're supposed to choose another one.
Do you have any advice regarding that?, we've been living here for 1 year, in London, and basically we need information about what are the nice places to live in? with good transportation links? variety of shopping malls? low crime rate... emmm that's it probably.
Can anyone help me?
There are soooo many places!!!!!!!!!!!

Oxford - some very nice areas to live in, shopping OK, but only 1h on train to London, and probably similar to get to Heathrow airport by road.

Bristol - meant to be very nice city to live in, probably not much cheaper than London, again not too far from London by train.

Surrey has many nice areas to live in, good train access to London.

North, anywhere up the a1 corridor as far as Huntingdon Area is approx 55mins on train to Kings Cross. It has some nice villages and not too horrendous with journeying into London.

oh yes, St Albans (north of London) is nice to live in, and quick train link into central London on Thameslink. city centre is quite upmarket, plenty of nice shops/restaurants etc.

St Albans is nice but hospitals in West Herts are in big financial trouble so may not be a good place to work - think Watford will survive and you could live in St Albans while working there, maybe.

Milton Keynes 45 mins from Euston v. nice Northants villages nearby - think hospital would be Northamptonshire General?

Chichester's nice in West Sussex. Historical, on the coast, nice shops.
