What can I buy my 6 year old nephew for Christmas?

I have already bought him one thing which is a bit of a boring aunty present I need to buy something additional, which might be deemed fun - for £10 (since I already bought something)

6 seems to be an awkward age. A lot of toys and games are 4 years plus or 8 years plus. What's fun for a 6yo?

I went into ToysRus tonight and was not inspired. Why must all boys toys be modelled around fighting machines - even lego?!!?

Help!

M and S have some mini Roboraptors etc for £12 (on 3 for 2) or there are science/exploration sets in Boots. Otherwise we bought dd's friend some Geomag (reduced in The Works to £8) for his 6th bday.

Can he read? How about 20Q - it's a computerised version of the "twenty questions" game - you think of something (e.g. a house, bike, rabbit, etc) It then asks you 20 Qs to which you have to press buttons for Yes, No, or Sometimes, and after 20 Q it guesses - and nearly always correctly! Has had my DS (just 7) riveted. It's £9.99.

Or someting like Ant World/ WOrm World?

Or set of "Where's Wally" books - Waterstones have them for £8 ish at the moment (half price)

Or some sets of Top Trumps?

Or a Make a Volcano kit?

Ooh - could go on forever....

(But Lego is always a good idea too!)

Marble Run. Dr Who figures. Agree with the science kits. Lego knights. Tamagotchi.

Marble run was my hit Christmas present 2 years ago We've triend to buy bits to add to it but without luck.

I like the idea of that 20 questions game. I know the one you mean. Yes, he can read quite well, so that opens up more possibilities. I had thought of Top Trumps if I can't find anything else in the higher price range.

I hadn't considered the Where's Wally books.

Thanks for the ideas so far.
