Bought a bag of sprouts for Sunday dinner last weekend, dd adamant that she won't touch them - "tried them last Christmas, they were horrible".

DD and DH (mega sprout fan) then had a race to see who could demolish a mountain of sprouts the quickest!

She is now demanding I cook the wretched things again this week ...

And what was the atmosphere like afterwards?

My two love sprouts too whereas I can't stand them!

In fact, if we're preparing broccoli or cauliflower they hang around begging for some of the raw stalk which they absolutely love! Some children are strange....

Quangle, lets just say I didn't dare light the Christmas candles!

mine likes chewing bits of liquorice bark

every time we walk past the chinese herbalists she tries to drag me in to get some

I fear I may have spawned a chipmunk

I loved sprouts as a littly too - but only when over-cooked and especially the loose leaves that fell off in the cooking and taste soggy and salty and sprouty.

I drew the line at over-cooked cabbage though. That's just silly.

Am having trouble weaning my 10 month old, who prefers to breastfeed rather than eat solids, but one of the few things I can get her to eat is sprouts! I did eat a lot of them whilst pregnant last winter, but then I ate lots of other things too which she won't touch (or will 'touch', but only to throw on the floor!).

my DT2 loves sprouts too and broad beans (pinched everyone else's off their plates!) but today they have both amazed me...it is their birthday, so I gave them a choice for lunch - fishfingers, sausages, pasta or chicken in breadcrumbs so they chose...pasta
