Is it any good, have looked at the website loads of brands but have been a tad disappointed with other outlet malls.Would you shop at bicester?

Bicester is good, I enjoy shopping there, how far away are you?

TinselgalacticWalrus · 08/12/2006 20:05

I went there a few years ago, and it was ok.

I bet there's loads more there now.

brimfull · 08/12/2006 20:09

well we'll be driving up that way tomorrow. Can't decide whether to stay in Oxford and shop or toodle out to bicester.

roisin · 08/12/2006 20:10

I don't like it. But then I don't really like shopping! We haven't been for over 4 years though. The boys used to enjoy the playground!

Mirage · 08/12/2006 20:10

I went a few years back.Crapola as far as we were concerned, but it might have improved.

nearlythree · 08/12/2006 20:11

It's the best I've been to, although I haven't been for a while.

GlennCloseAsCruellaDeVille · 08/12/2006 20:13

crapola imo but then it would be

onzephyrstdayofchristmas · 08/12/2006 20:15

Hmmm haven't been there for a long long time but I liked it when I used to go. Mind you I was about 18 and spent my whole time in Tommy Hilfiger!!

JackieNoHoHo · 08/12/2006 20:16

I have a feeling parking might be completely hideous in the run up to Christmas. Especially if you're not arriving first thing. Mind you, you could say the same about Oxford, but at least you've got big park and rides.

brimfull · 08/12/2006 20:19

so oxford city then?

OP posts:
nearlythree · 08/12/2006 20:27

What about the one at Swindon? That was excellent the last time I went.

I could never get on with Oxford, but perhaps I just didn't know my way round well enough.

JackieNoHoHo · 08/12/2006 20:28

Don't you have to go into Oxford in any case, ggirl, it's just a case of whether you then go on to Bicester Village? I'd say don't bother - once you're in Oxford, stay there. Hope it goes OK.

Paddlechick666 · 08/12/2006 21:59

it's better than it was, parking is a nightmare tho as someone has said.

if you're browsing looking for inspiration i doubt you'll find much.

haven't shopped in oxford for donkey's but i think the mall around the old prison is supposed to be quite good now, according to my mum.

the covered market is also good for less "high st" stuff iyswim.

have fun!

NotQuiteCockney · 08/12/2006 22:06

Bicester is mostly clothing, not "gifts" per se. My ILs live nearby, I go a few times a year. Easy way to buy lots of cheap nearly fashionable clothes and work out if they suit me, later.

cath kidson - some good bargins
campers - was myh downfall an dobuth 2 pairs jsut for me!
..........well long story short, it's worht a look - DO get there early, parking is a nightmare esp this close to xmas - it was ab out a month ago tha tI was there and it was crazy then

I think it's worth a look!

PigeonPie · 08/12/2006 22:21

Must say, that unless you get there at 10 tomorrow morning you don't want to be there! You'll probably have to queue for quite a way before the place and the parking will be just horrendous. Stay in Oxford

brimfull · 08/12/2006 22:25

thank you for all the replies.
We've decided to stay in oxford as we wouldn't get to bicester until later ,parking sounds grim.

Another vote for rubbish. Went in the summer - didn't find anything I had to have and there was a queue for the loo and ice cream.

hana · 08/12/2006 22:32

oh have just googled the swindon place.....would I be crazy to attempt before Christmas??!!

ruty · 08/12/2006 22:59

Warning - oxford shopping can be pretty stressful, and very crowded. I've always had good experiences with Bicester parking and shopping but never been at this time of year - ds loves the playground tho!

jampots · 08/12/2006 23:01

personally i think its shite - the one in Wells (Somerset) is excellent though.
