Am baking today and my scales have broken. I need to measure out the following...

375g self raising flour
185g plain flour
375g caster sugar

How do I do it without scales - there must be some way...!

could you convert it to cups?

ok 25g of flour is equivalent to a headed tablespoon. think sugar being heavier is a sort of flattened tablespoon. Thats what I was taught in home ed 22 years ago and its stood me in good stead. In any case as long as the proportions are in balance you should be ok.
