Do you do up your child's car seat when they aren't in it?

Just keeping the instructions on how to adjust dd's car seat. A point on there (that I had never thought of) is to do up the seat belt (it is a high back booster seat using the adult seat belt) even when the child isn't in it to prvenet it being lauched at your head in the event of an accident. Worth taking note folks.

Oh I had never thought of that either!

thanks

Ah, I thought you meant the straps that hold the child in, which seemed a bit excessively tidy But agreed that not having it launched at your head would be a good thing (ours is an Isofix so the problem doesn't arise).

yes - for those type - otherwise it risks flying around in the event of an accident - it would be a bit ironic to be injured by an insecure child car seat !

It just never occured to me, but with 2 of them in the back I will certainly try to remember.

It has never occurred to me to bother and he has been in it for two years.

tissy · 06/12/2006 12:48

Nope, never occurred to me, either, but it's OK, it's behind dh's seat not mine
