Dd1 had a ballet rehersal today.
A few weeks ago we were sent out a letter saying she would need to be picked up at 8pm.
As we were not at her ballet lesson on saturday i asked my mum (who took dd tonite) to check in case they had changed the time.
My mum was told adamently that it would be 8.30, she repeated this back to whoever it was that told her.

I was annoyed coz i thought 8pm was late enough for a 4 year old. Anyway i went to pick her up early(or so i thought) at 8.20. When i got there i found dd screeching. coz all the other 4 year olds had been picked up at 8pm. She thought i wasnt coming back for her.

A parent was looking after her and was very nice. but the lady who runs the school. completly blanked me. no apologies, nothing.

fgs they had my phone number and hadnt even tried to phone me. its taken me ages to calm my little girl down. i am soo and feel like writing to complain. but also feel so guilty as the letter did say 8pm.

i think i just need some reassurance that i am not a bad mummy.

You are a good mummy don't be silly. Fact is whoever told your mum 8.30 gave her the wrong time and that's not your fault. They should have had the common sense to ring you to make sure that all was ok and the principle should have had the decency to talk to you and find out what the mix up was. I would definitely at least speak to someone at the school to make your feelings on the matter clear. Without making generalisations, there are individuals in this profession that take great delight in making people feel inferior and being 'sniffy' - you're paying them for the privalege of teaching your daughter remember and they should feel lucky for having her!!!! Feel better???

Poor little thing. I guess you need to get a photofit description from your mum of who exactly told her 8pm before you start on the ballet folk.

Oh I know who told my mum 8.30. It was the lady who used to live next door to me. We were never friends but both me and my mum knew her. And.. i actually spoke to her when i went to pick dd up and i apologised to her saying someone had told mum the wrong time, she never said a word.
