The sun is shining - what's playing on your stereo?

Ok, summer looks like it might be trying to make an appearance - so what are your top summer tunes of all time and the best albums you've bought recently? You know, the sort that make you want to turn up the car stereo, open the windows and sing loudly - despite the fact that you are in stationary traffic and can't hold a note.

I'm on an old school Marvin Gaye and Lauryn Hill tip - with added portions of the Kanye West and Blink 182 albums. (Bought the last one for ds, but discovered I liked it!)

Maroon 5 is my top tip for this summer, I've been listening to it on my computer at work.

katierocket · 14/05/2004 12:18

it's not bloody shining in manchester

Fizog · 14/05/2004 12:37

Just listened to Jet and have The Stands and Norah Jones queued up.

It does feel very summery today

spykid · 14/05/2004 12:57

Wish summer had reached the midlands
Agree with Bran about Maroon 5, have been listening to them myself...plus lead singer rather dishy!!!
I always find that a bit of the Stereophonics gets me in a summery mood...

Northerner · 14/05/2004 14:10

The sun is cracking the bricks here in North Yorkshire! (typical northern phrase!)

Soulfly · 14/05/2004 14:11

Snow Patrol, have fallen in love with singer's voice, he sounds so sensitive/ sexy -but no idea what he looks like!

batey · 14/05/2004 14:41

Not sure it's "summery" but had Amy Winehouse on today.

MrsDoolittle · 14/05/2004 15:00

I have to say Keane released their album 'Hopes and Fears' on Monday.
It is fab, fab, fab, fab.

mambo · 14/05/2004 15:02

Keep expecting my dh to appear with it for me because I have told him loads of times I want it. I suppose I'll trek to Asda after school and buy it if it that good.

monkeygirl · 14/05/2004 15:11

The sun always makes me want to play something raucous so it's the Manic Street Preachers for me at the mo. And I'm also getting the desire to listen to 'Catch the Sun' by the Doves.

Miriam - I personally think the lead singer of Snow Patrol is a bit goofy looking, although you may think differently!

MrsDoolittle · 14/05/2004 15:12

Yes definately. Dh says it's a bit poppy for him, but than he likes to think his taste is a bit 'out there'. I know he really likes it, despite himself.
It really is one of the best albums I have heard in a long time - I have been waiting for it to be released since January. Well worth the wait.
They are going down a storm in the live concerts apparently!

lou33 · 14/05/2004 15:30

N.E.R.D, Fly or Die.

mambo · 15/05/2004 10:49

MrsDoolitle I didn't get to Asda as had extra child for tea but guess what dh brought it home with him and its brill
