and its head is the size of a fecking tennis ball.
Beast is not the word to be used.
Something more like a beast that was bred on radioactive wasteground might cover the size of it.

Its trying to chew its way in. The dog is petrified (great use he is) and tbh so am I.
Cant get hold of dh and typically he's away at work till tomorrow afternoon.
Wtf do I do? Shall I just call Rentokil and blast the dirty thing outta here or what?

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 04/12/2006 17:37

Find a 10 month old baby in a pram and give it to them to hold!

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 04/12/2006 17:38

Eh???
Have I missed an amusing thread?

OP posts:
TinsellyRhino · 04/12/2006 17:39

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 04/12/2006 17:40

Damn it.
I always miss the good ones.

Wasnt the "I've eaten my dd's hamster one" was it?

paulaplumpbottom · 04/12/2006 17:45

What on earth is it trying to chew through?

TinsellyRhino · 04/12/2006 17:47

no, someone actually put a rat on babydragon in her pushchair at a petting zoo type thinf without asking
I think the thread was called 'What's the etiquette when someone puts a rat on your baby?'

TinsellyRhino · 04/12/2006 17:48

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 04/12/2006 18:11

You better hope its a rat, can't think of what the alternative might be like.

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 04/12/2006 23:15

We had a rat in our house on Sunday. We bought the Xmas decs in from the garage and it must have been in the box, we tried chasing it around to catch it but two kids freaked the hell out of it and when I opened the front door to put some rubbish out it made a run for it and hurtled down the street.

Have you thought about sneaking out the back door and battering it with something?

borrow a cat?

not mine he is stupid

kid · 04/12/2006 23:22

Make lots of noise, put something smelly down to scare it away. Don't let it get in your house as you might have trouble making it leave

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 05/12/2006 06:49

What a bloody carry on!
We finally got a guy to come out last night, unlike stupid Rentokil who couldnt get to us till this afternoon (so much for 24hrs).
Luckily where the rat is, is behind a false wooden wall and its got in by a gap in a pipe from outside.
The problem is, not only only is it a Rat but its a Rat thats up the blinkin duff and its set up home in there with a Tesco's carrier bag amoungst other things!

So the poison went down last night. 1:30am this morning I heard a whirring noise, presumed the heating had come on. When my ds woke for a feed at 5:30 came downstairs to find my kitchen flooded! The Rat has chewed through the dishwasher pipes!!!
Not only that the dog has somehow managed to eat some of the poison I think because he is vomiting blood!

Not a great time.

Oh my God.

Makes the hedgehog in our kitchen look like a ladybird's flown in ....

Wasn't the bait in a locked box? Ours has bait in it with a little tunnel for them to go in and get it. How do you know it's up the duff?

I've seen them in our garden and consequently won't go into the garage or garden shed, but in the HOUSE?

Eff.

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 05/12/2006 07:01

The guy said that they make nests to have their young in when they are pg and there is a slight gap in the wall so when they were born and mobile, they would have climbed through!

The last time dh slept away at work, we had 2 men trying to break in.
I cant wait until he does it again.

Its still rumaging around the little sod.
I've now pulled out the dishwasher.
Not only has it chewed through the plasterboard, its chewed through the pipe on the dishwasher so that will need replacing too!!!
The dog has been to the vets and had a vitamin k injection but he seems fine.

OP posts:
stleger · 05/12/2006 10:19

So that's what the vitamin k injection is for! I knew it had a purpose.

corrina28 · 06/12/2006 13:46

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers any news on the rat or has it got in a ravished you?

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 06/12/2006 19:07

Its still alive the bloody thing!
I wish it would just die!!!!

OP posts:
kid · 06/12/2006 21:06

We are officially free of rats in my house. Pest control came today and confirmed they have all moved out!

paulaplumpbottom · 06/12/2006 21:21

You might just have to do the deed yourself. Wasn't DH supposed to be home today?

moonshine · 06/12/2006 21:25

When we had a rat it steadfastedly ignored all the trays of poison put down by the council and continued stealing the pan scourers to nest with behind the cooker and some soft juggling balls. They love soap as well, apparently...
