Gardening question. Can I plant the following in pots?

Tinker, just asked dh (gardener) about this and he said

  1. yes. If you've bought in a pot and are transferring it to another pot, make sure it's planted 3 inches deeper than before - they like their roots to be cool.
  2. yes but it would have to be a very big pot unless the variety is a less vigorous one - most grow very vigorously and will require loads and loads of watering
  3. yes, no problem

Tinker, I think the pot for a clematis should be pretty big too - I have a vague recollection of reading that it should be pretty deep and at least 18" across at the top.
