DH uses a moped to get to and from work - much quicker than taking the car. He was in the front of the queue waiting at a roundabout. Suddenly the car behind him shot forward and went into the back of him. DH thinks he went up into the air, hit the bonnet and landed on the ground. He was so shaken he's not really sure what went on as it all happened so quickly. The car driver said that he had seen dh but when he pulled forward he thought dh had gone. Thankfully dh wasn't badly injured but his bike is in a bit of a mess - not sure how bad as yet (rear number plate was in shreds and all the electric wires are hanging down)
The driver of the car was totally shocked and dh said he looked really upset and worried about the damage he may have done to dh.
As it turns out it was the father of one of the children that goes to dd2's school. I know the mum but dhs' don't know each other. It was only because his kid was in the car that dh realised who they were.
DH has been on a high up until now but he's gone very quiet now and just headed up to bed. I think the reality has kicked in

Glad he is ok?
Do you think he should get himself checked at A and E,just in case?

Sparkler1 · 01/12/2006 22:27

I've asked him over and over again if he is okay and he says he feels fine. He says he doesn't need to be checked over. One knee feels a little bruised but otherwise fine. Just very shaken up. He was on quite a high when he got home after it all happened. He's gone really quiet now he's had time to think.
I'm keeping an eye on him.

He will probably feel quite sore in the morning i imagine .

Sparkler1 · 01/12/2006 22:31

I know. I told him earlier that he probably feels fine but tomorrow morning he will find lots of hidden bruises.

Yep you were right PF. He aches like mad today. Has a nice graze on his left bum cheek too - which I've kissed better for him .

Ouch, poor dh (and you, very frightening). Car drivers are notoriously bad at looking out for motorbikes/bikes/mopeds, sadly.
