Driving to Heathrow at 6.30am on Friday ...

which road should I take - the A3 or the M3? We usually drive up to London via the A3 through Guildford, but I have no idea how busy the roads will be at that time in the morning. My flight's not until 1115 but I'm aiming to meet my sister at the airport around 9.30. Does anyone have any idea how busy those roads will be then? (I'm hoping it won't take 3 hours, but you never know ...)

Kando, there are a lot of roadworks on the M4 - sorry you didn't mention that. But think you need to get onto it at some point. I get lost constantly - ignore me. I took a taxi anyway. Good luck.

Thanks Galaxy. Looks like it'll be the M3 for me then. I'm off to Inverness see my niece for the first time! She'll be 5 weeks old on Monday and I can't wait. First time ever away from my two dds (eldest is nearly 3.5!) so am looking forward to a nice loooooooooooong lie in on Saturday morning
