Where to buy Toy Story items

We would like to buy DS some Toy Story stuff for his birthday (he will be 3 and loves Woody, Zurg and especially Buzz). As by toy manufacturer standards this is all so yesterday compared to Monsters Inc, does anyone have any bright ideas as to where to go? Woolworths has nothing.
I know the Disney Shop has pricey, big talking Woodies and Buzzes - I was hoping for simpler, smaller figurines, story books for younger children, maybe stickers and puzzles. At the moment his carting round his Oral B toothpaste because it has Buzz on it is a nasty accident waiting to happen...thanks for any bright ideas.

Marina, there is a toy site that was recommended on here where I managed to get a Zurg. Try 'Zurg' on search and the thread may pop up. Toymasters or something, all really easy to order/arrive etc.

Marina, don't suppose you live anywhere near Glasgow? My DS is well into Toy Story and I feel it is a shame that you cannot get the toys very easily now (I wish we had bought some when he was tiny but then you don't know if that is what they are going to like).

Anyway on a recent trip to the Barras in Glasgow my DH and I discovered a stall that sells ex-display/end of line toys along with quality second-hand toys. We bought a large talking Buzz for £13.99, he is in excellent condition, they had a choice of two at the time. The stall owner said that sometimes they get the Toy Story figures boxed and the last time they had them the guy from Chewin-the-Fat bought them. I would imagine they may have some smaller Toy Story figures but obviously it's the sort of place you just have to go and see.

If you are nowhere near Glasgow this will be of no use at all!

PS I don't think they are nicked!

Argos do a talking Buzz for £14.99 which I would guess is cheaper than Disney - you can view on their website (argos.co.uk). It comes under the Toy Story 2 heading. Also, Amazon have a selection of books and stickers.

Thanks very much for the ideas everyone. I am going to nip off to our local Argos for the Toy Story 2 stuff. Sadly, Demented, I am 600 miles away in London, the Barras sounds like a good bet. However, I do visit friends in Edinburgh quite often, so might ask for a quick shopping trip over there. Big, ignorant question - Barras is a market, is it? And which days is it on?
To Argos and beyond!

Marina, it was a long shot, I'm still not sure who all the Scottish Mumsnetters are yet! Yes the Barras is a market in the east end of Glasgow and it is on every Saturday. It has the usual round of fake stuff, naff towels, out of date chocolate, etc but also some really interesting second hand stalls if you like a good rummage. If you do go obviously you can't be guaranteed to find any Toy Story stuff but I think there are only two or three toy stalls, both in the outdoor section of the market and only one of these sells secondhand and ex-display etc goods.

If nothing else if you get the chance go for the patter! Glasgow is also a good day out for the shops (within walking distance of the Barras) and there are many interesting things to see, City of Culture and all that (going back a few years now)!

Anyway all the best with your trip to Argos and beyond!!! Remember to watch out for Zurg and his ion blaster!
