If outlook express is same as normal outlook then its in tools then out of office assistant - then take you through set up. If not, do a search in help

WhizzBangCaligula · 26/11/2006 20:53

No, it's not the same and nothing is coming up under help

Is it Tools, Message rules?

foxinsocks · 26/11/2006 20:55

I used to do this at work and it was under Tools as Out of Office assistant. I seem to remember reading that you can't do it if you use Outlook through an ISP rather than on a work network setting (iyswim) - I too don't have it in my Tools menu.

here you are if you can make sense of it

out of office assistant not available in express, how to set up an auto reply

WhizzBangCaligula · 26/11/2006 21:00

Oh God now I've realised why I never use it in OE. It is just too much hassle, isn't it?

Thanks guys.

A colleague of mine gave me an excellent excuse not to - "all you're doing is confirming your e-mail address to spammers, don't do it".

Hurray!
