Thinking about moving to Wonston, near Winchester

Hi, I currently live in London with my husband and 5 year old DD, we are planning a move to a village somewhere outside Winchester and a place in Wonston has come up for sale. Just wanted some advice on Wonston, to see if anyone lives there/ knows what it is like? Naturally we would be keen to know if other young families live there. I'm conscious it's really small, but that wouldn't matter if there are other friendly families there (especially as we have an only child). Thanks for any advice offered!

I think there are a number of young families; I work with babies and have done a few visits there. :)

There are busses to local secondaries. I'm not sure about primaries.

I expect there are playgroups that serve the surrounding villages too.

There's an Army training ground (Worthy Down) nearby and lots & lots of new mums there.

I'm from the other side of Winchester, but I grew up in Winch and I'd deffinately move there. Hth.

Wonston isn't considered as 'nice' as the other villages nearby if that bothers you but I think it's an okay sort of place. We were looking at villages round there until the reality of village life sank in. Decided it wasn't for us
