They keep coming into a our garden and eating the nuts we put out for the birds. DH saw one sitting at the table eating them earlier

I'm not sure what we should do about it. I wonder if the HA will sort it out for us. They did pay Rentokill to get rid of the mice we had, but they were in the house.

squirrels arent actually very nice really, anyone know what they do to baby birds??

pointydog · 21/11/2006 21:31

Fuck 'em and eat 'em.

I'm guessing. The way you're building it up, I don;t think I could handle the truth.

aliceband · 21/11/2006 21:48

if you really want to know?... they eat the baby birds..

zookeeper · 22/11/2006 22:11

rats are nice - I've been out with lots

i think we've got rats. i've seen one running towards the doorway but gasped and so it rang back into the back of some shelves we have. dh is puting poison down as i type. we had something in the kitchen in the summer and then it went away from a this weekend we noticed bit marks in our cereal boxes, which are on a shelf.

i think i'll be call in pest control tomorrow am ...

miggy · 22/11/2006 22:31

Have just spent the evening going round the kitchen putting down poison. I let the mice live in harmony when it was only one cupboard (even though they ate a whole packet of m and s extremely cholocatly biscuits) but tonight I opened the tea towel drawer and found mouse pooh. that does it, no more nice little friendly non killing traps here boys.
Was talking to a friend about this yesterday and she had put poison down, then saw a little mouse flailing about on her lawn, felt so bad she scooped it up and made it a bed in a little wicker basket so it could die in comfort-bet she didnt tell the kids it was dieing because mummy poisoned it!

We have pest control coming tomorrow. I haven't been in our garden since we poured the water down the hole.

and their wee smells, i found some spirally poos, googgled it, which suggested rats, but that seems to have stopped now. thank god.

where i lived once before my neighbours used to put food in the garden, a big pile of left over chicken drumsticks and stuff. why! must have been heaving with rats, i only saw one once.

kid · 23/11/2006 09:38

I have just checked the poison we put down on Tuesday, its all been eaten!

Where did you read that spiraly poos are rats ones? Had always though those were mousey ones and that rats poos were about the size of a jelly bean (have been unable to eat them since the man from the council compared them to that!)

aliceband · 23/11/2006 20:57

i thought i googled the spirally poos and they were rats. i was really hoping they weren't.

autumnlover · 23/11/2006 21:15

there is a rat in my living room as we speak eating rat poison. OH MY GOD - i'm freaked and i'm pregnant so i smell its horrible/sick smell.

so hopefull it'll die soon - somewhere outside.
