I was bricking myself when I first went to meet her because she sounds so scary but it is all a front

No no, I regularly shave my head. Well, not all the way, I use clippers.

Hair is a big hassle, and it annoys me. I thought I was going for a longish brush cut this time, but it turned out I wanted to be able to see my skull, so it's pretty short.

I spend most of my day with a bike helmet on, anyway, so if I don't want it weirdly spikey, best to keep it very short.

I'm not doubting she is attractive

I am fairly butch, but I don't look androgynous, no matter what I do .

I may come in drag tomorrow, but won't wear makeup (never do).

(I once got spirals shaved in the back of my head, it was lovely, I'd like to have patterns shaved all over my skull ... only it took bloody forever to have just that done, and the blokes in the salon didn't seem to understand I'm happy having it all very short.)

I honestly don't mean to sound scary, I think "butch" is a fair description of me. I don't see it as pejorative, there's nothing wrong with being butch!
