I've read on here before that some people find all the terminology, abbreviations etc hard to follow but don't always like to ask what they mean.

MNHQ have agreed to having an SN glossary/acronym list to explain things. A list has been started here but if there's anything else you can think of that you'd like an explanation of can you add it to the list?

It will be put together later and linked to the SN board so now's your chance.

TIA.

I think that's a great idea - will certainly help in my education.
thanks

Just had a quick look, yes will be v educational for some of us, thanks. I always wondered what Portage was!

(I used to do admin in a SEN LEA office many years ago)

coppertop · 17/11/2006 10:07

I'll add those to the list.

Any more?

Hi coppertop, this is a great idea.

I saw you already had GF for gluten free. Would it also be worth including the GF/CF diet?

It saved our life!

Will do, HC. If you know of any particular sites/groups that give info/advice about the diet we could add that too. (either to the glossary itself depending on what format MNHQ would like to use or to the WebGuide that's already linked to the SN board)

Bethron - that sounds like portage to me. Is the official title of yours a pre-school advisor? If so I could always add in brackets something like "known in NI as a pre-school advisor" or something like that?
