Toucansurf are good.

Pinkchampagne · 10/11/2006 14:05

We are with AOL & haven't had any problems at all with them.
Avoid Tiscalli & TALK TALK at all costs!

PhoenixGirl · 10/11/2006 14:11

This is why its so confusing. I know people that have had no probs with tiscalli and my auntie had a nightmare with them. My bf has just moved to talk talk and had no probs with them too.

we have just spent approx 20 hours holding for technical support at AOL. The only phones they answer are the sales ones it seems.

However, having finally managed to speak to a level 2 technical supervisor our problem was fixed and we are now back on line so probably won't face the bother of moving.

We were told that we are long standing customers - having been with them for 38 months - so it looks as though people do move around a lot.

Troutpout · 10/11/2006 14:18

We're with aol
Never had any problems

tegan · 10/11/2006 14:29

I have aol and out of the 5 providers I have tried this is the best by far.

PhoenixGirl · 10/11/2006 14:30

Tiscali, talk talk, ntl and pipex sorry can't remember the otherone it was so long ago, but aol have been amazing.

MerlinsBeard · 10/11/2006 15:22

AOL are SHIT avoid at all costs....slow sluggish servers, won't load msn griup pages and call centre in India. AND they have just been taken over by talktalk who will have full comtrol by end of january. We are laeving AOL!

Rhubarb · 10/11/2006 15:25

Don't go with Pipex, I had loads of trouble with them, it takes them 30mins to answer a call even on a weekday morning, they never answer correspondance and never call back when they say they will.

AOL are ok. I'm with them. It does take a while to get through to Tech Support however, but once you are through they know what they are doing. Don't ask the salespeople any difficult questions because they struggle!

Rhubarb · 10/11/2006 15:26

I thought the call centre for AOL was in Ireland? The freephone number I have is manned by Irish people.

Tech support might be in India but they are very good and know their way around pc's.

MerlinsBeard · 10/11/2006 15:30

I have no freephone numbers rhubarb....?? I have to ring 0870 something or other. We're going with sky anyway on the basis of it being free and it can't be any worse!

Rhubarb · 10/11/2006 15:31

0800 2006093, but they can't give tech support. They can deal with other enquiries however.

MerlinsBeard · 10/11/2006 15:35

thanks

tend to get BIL round if we can't do it ourselves so seldom need to ring them unless its big.

Have reinstalled the software 4 times this last few months alone! driving me mad.

Anyway, wrong thread for an aol rant!
