Bit of a long shot - anyone here a student of London Uni and stayed at Hughes Parry Hall?

I was there from 1992 / 1993 and lived behind it in Sandwich St for the remainder of uni and spent many many happy hours in the bar. I have heard however that the bar area has closed and been turned into a prayer area as the majority of students there now are Muslim and a bar was deemed inappropriate. Has anyone else heard this?

It seems so unbelievable as the bar was the hub of the place. I think someone's winding me up!

Blimey! I wasn't there - but my brother was, and it always struck me as being the best located place to stay in London. How extraordinary if it is....
