If your doing it because of some odd sense that you buy everyone a gift, regardless of how toxic they are. Nothing.

If you actually want to, then something that you know she will like. No point buying her perfume when she never wears it. Or an ornament when they cannot stand the dust collecting waste of spaces.

i would like to get her something . we usually exchange presents at birthdays and christmas but just token gestures really for about £10 . being her 40th i thought it should be something a bit more than that but have no clue what she would want . she does wear perfume , although im not sure which

You may be able to get a subscription to a suitably glamorous magazine for around £20.

Or something fine in the cosmetics department.

Or a particular hardback book?

My cousin bought me a bottle of champagne - I was chuffed to bits because I know she doesn't like it, but she knows I do!
